What happens if jagex catches you botting

Such as herblore without moving once. I have strong doubts about this, knowing which bot programs people use, they aren't necessarily 'secret'.

I'm leaning towards the conclusion you guys have somewhat explained. I think it might be based on extremely repetitive actions like perfect runs through an agility course times in a row with 0 deviation , extreme lack of typing and difficulty with randoms. I think this will clear up most of your questions.

Jagex doesn't tell anyone how they were detected exactly since it would just tell the programmer how to get around it next time. The people who never get banned for macroing are the ones who write their own scripts and never share them with anyone. When you do that, your odds of getting caught are one in a couple million the amount of active RS accounts , but when you download a script online, you're using a script that a ton of other people are using, and when Jagex sees a ton of people clicking the same way, then it becomes obvious to them.

I think it's fair because one person put in a lot more work than the other. First of all please work on your english and typing skills cuz that gave me a headache to read. Thanks for your very in-depth and accurate response. However the question of why my friend hasn't been caught yet is still unanswered.

He uses a VERY popular botting program that many people use and uses it very constantly. He claims that the prime reason he hasn't been banned yet is that there hasn't been a spike in his game play time after all he botted since he created the account.

Regardless, thanks for the information. Java is just such an easily manipulated program as such there will always be bots in runescape.

Thats why some botters get caught, some dont. It's a funny picture, no need to spam. From talking to friends who bot, it really seems to be quite random. I know a person here who uses the forums who managed to 99 Hunter, merch his way up and then buy a purple partyhat before he was banned. He's also currently got an account with 99 Woodcutting from botting at Ivy's , although I'm unsure as to how far that's gone I know he hasn't been banned on it.

Whereas I had a friend who used a simple alching script for just a few hours and found herself suspended for about three weeks.

Personally, I'd say it's really all to do with if you're reported or not. Generally those bots that train in obscure places don't get banned. Because I want to follow the rules, I'll only inform you of the type of bots that DO get caught, not the ones that don't. As soon as you connect to runescape, they have a lot of information on you. Your IP is all they really need though. Your uncaught friend is probably using a method I used to bot on Diablo 2 yes, I admit it, diablo 2 mfing sucks.

People who bot all the time will not bot when the game updates coz the Botting system doesn't work and needs to update , or something. And I believe you get random events when people report you for botting, then they look into it and if it seems as if your booting they send a random to come get you! Your friend is either lucky or knows how to bot well, or possibly both.

Most legitimate players play relatively consistently. This is one major factor that separates bots from humans. Bots often play for massive amounts of time per session.

A smart botter will bot a couple of hours at a time and take frequent breaks to make the game play hours seem more human-like. I would guess that instead of auto-banning them, they're program flags them up. Some JMod then checks their playing hours etc against old data, and if there's a significant jump then they're probably botting.

And for your question : I have no idea, but I report everyone I see botting, even my clanmates if they would bot. You need to be a member in order to leave a comment. Sign up for a new account in our community. It's easy! Already have an account?

Recommended Posts. The Botwatch system has banned players directly, making it the first automated banning system in RuneScape. This being said, Jagex is quite confident in this system and guarantees that all legitimate players will be safe. However, a major glitch did arise from an early flaw in the system, resulting in thousands of innocent players being wrongfully banned.

On 18 September , Jagex added preliminary bot watching code to RuneScape , and spam bots started to explode and get banned. The Rogue Botwatch bans glitch was a major glitch that occurred on 27 September , resulting in the illegitimate banning of thousands of accounts. Around PM Jagex time, Botwatch began removing thousands of innocent players from the game and placing unappealable permanent bans on their accounts.

It would teleport the players to many locations, including White Knights Castle and Wizard's tower. If an affected player dropped an item, it was instantly destroyed.

Affected players were also unable to trade with others, nor use the Grand Exchange. The glitch was fixed in less than an hour after its discovery, and Mod Emilee issued a public apology about the issue and described its cause. Those who were affected by the glitch later had the falsely issued offences and accompanying punishments manually removed, and were also given 20 free spins on the Squeal of Fortune as a goodwill gesture.

Some players who were affected had a number of their stats temporarily drained upon logging back in, to levels that would otherwise permanently be rolled back to if they were caught [legitimately] macroing and given a second chance. Their base levels, however, remained unaffected. This could be treated like any other temporary drainage of a skill, such as by drinking a restore potion or simply waiting for the stats to regenerate on their own. However, some effects of the glitch were not so temporary; for example, items that were dropped by affected players and consequently destroyed were not refunded to them.

The next day Mod Emilee confirmed the cause as a heuristic from the testing phase of the system which was accidentally turned on, and stated that barriers were put into place to prevent it from being turned on again.

Even after being fixed and reimplemented, however, the system still wasn't perfect, as there were many innocent players who were allegedly being falsely banned [ source needed ]. Beginning on 15 March , many players logging in from China and South Korea were immediately and permanently banned, [4] many of who claimed to be completely innocent.

The bans seem to have stopped [ source needed ] , but some of the oldest and most experienced Chinese players are still banned. RuneScape Wiki Explore. Ranch Out of Time Primal feast.
